Image compare - questions
Does the tool compare labels on the production line?
The comparison is intended for different instances. Before the production line, in the relationship with the printer: when giving the approval for printing the file or when receiving the input in the plant (order acceptance). It could also be used to control before starting the production - the operator uploads a scan of the label and compares it with the one sent to print and the system verifies that they are the same. This requires a complete MoonDesk.
Do you compare sizes on ready-made packaging?
That is, it checks if the box is the same size as another one? If the whole image is scaled, it will be scaled the same and you will not see the difference, if you only changed the size of a part if you are going to show it.
Does the tool detect colours?
No, but if there is a text that is in the same position with the same typography but in another colour, it will be detected as different
Does the tool monitor the labels continuously during production?
No, it is for the pre-production stage.
What kind of errors/modifications/differences does it detect?
The tool performs an image alignment and a pixel by pixel comparison. It is configured to detect any change in the pixels with a pre-set sensitivity, as the images will not be completely the same if one is a digital original and the other a scan of the print.
Examples of use
It can be used in 3 instances:
Document approval when a second artwork is created (processed by a 3rd party, printer or designer) for Digital VS Digital review.
Control and reception of inputs (based on an approved digital file) against a previously scanned sign.
Control Start of production, to start print production, from an approved or processed file to compare with the first print batch.
