Reviewing a task

You can access reviewing from the notification, from the e-mail sent to you which informs you about the task pending review, or directly from the main menu.

Every time you're invited to review documents in MoonDesk, you will receive a notification in your e-mail with the task's basic details. In order to start, click on the "go to review" button. The MoonDesk website will thus open up.

You can also access reviewing from the web app https://app.moondesk.design. In the upper menu, you will see the Review tab.

On the screen's left side, you will see the tasks where you participate as a reviewer. In each one of them, the task's name, deadline and the number of pending reviews for you are displayed.

To the right of the tasks, you will see the list of subtasks included in the selected task. Each subtask corresponds to a document, and it will display:

  • The document's name.

  • A thumbnail of its content.

  • The review status.

  • The current version.

In the subtasks which are pending for you, you will see the 🕓 Waiting for your review text.

To the right of the subtasks column, you will see the task's description, which could contain indications or information that's important for the collaborators.

In order to start reviewing a subtask, click on "Review now".

Task details

Within the reviewing screen, on the left side, we will find the 📋icon, which corresponds to Task details.

Within, you will find important information, such as:

Drop-down of the task details.
  • Task number, status and deadline

  • Explanation of the task accomplishment requirements

  • Important attachments for the task's accomplishment.

  • Documents related to the task

Reviewing: approving or rejecting a document

Within a document's reviewing, in the upper right corner, you will find the "Approve" and "Reject" buttons.

If the document fulfills what was requested in the task, click on "Approve". Remember that the document's approval is just an instance in the review (since the participation of all reviewers is required), and lastly, the task owner's definition, in order for a document to become approved.

If the document doesn't fulfill with what was required, through the marking and comments tools, you can request adjustments, and click on "Reject". This action will notify the task's owner of your decision, and he will request for the necessary design adjustments once all reviewers have given their opinion or made their change requests.

Marking and comments

  • White arrow (selecting tool): main selecting tool, used for selecting objects and elements. You can click on an object in order to select it.

  • Hand (dragging tool): in order to use it, click on the document and drag the hand in the desired direction, or hold the spacebar down in order to toggle it temporarily.

  • Add comment: it allows to add a note in the document to be reviewed. Draw where you wish to add a comment. This will make a text box pop up in order for you to leave a note on the document.

  • Highlight selected text: click and drag over the text you wish to highlight. This will make a text box pop up where you will be able to leave a note on the document. Additionally, if needed, you can attach a complementary file to the comment.

  • Underline selected text: click and drag over the text you wish to underline. This will make a text box pop up where you will be able to leave a note on the document. Additionally, if needed, you can attach a complementary file to the comment.

Control tabs

To the right side of the screen, you will find a panel with four tabs:

  • In the first one, "Messages", you will be able to send comments and see comments from other collaborators. In order to send a comment, write it on the text box and click on "Send". Additionally, if needed, you can attach a complementary file to the comment.

  • The next one, "Review status", is a recap of each reviewer's activity for the current document.

  • The third one, "Control", details the rules that have been applied to the document in order to be checked.

Within this tab, we will find 3 kinds of control tools:

  • Rules

These are configured from the "Rules", located in the main menu.

And it's the task's OWNER who must select the status of each one of them as appropriate.

  • Design

  • Lastly, the "Information" tab displays technical details of the file.

Controlling a document's measurements

While reviewing, you can take measurements in order to make fot eh design elements to have the right size. Follow these steps:

  • Select the measuring tool: in the documents view toolbar, click on the measuring tool.

  • Click to create a measurement: in the art, select the place where you wish to start measuring. This will define a vector which will indicate the start of the measurement. Upon moving it in any direction, the vector will display the distance in millimeters and inches.

  • Define the measurement's limit: click a second time in order to establish the measurement's limit.

  • Save the measurements: the measurements will be saved in a list that you will be able to visualize when the measuring tool is selected. Below, the measurement bar is shown when selected, 4th icon.

Select the barcode reader in the toolbar here below.

A message will pop up with all the information about this product that has been registered in the GS1 database. If you click on "See all the information", you will be able to see more detailed information.

When we select this tool, the program will automatically display the differences that were found between the latest version and the file's previous version.

When selecting the "comparing with another document" tool, a window will open up in new tab for selecting the file that we wish to compare.

One the document has been selected, we will be able to choose which file we wish to compare it with, either one within MoonDesk, or an external one.
